The inspiration for the new STAR CHRONICLE collection comes from ancient Belarusian myths about the Sun and Moon, as well as our ancestors' understanding of celestial mechanics.
Journalist and publicist Irina Klimkovich, a former employee of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus and co-author of the encyclopedic dictionary Belarusian Mythology, helped the HVILINA team gather rare materials. The full collection of Belarusian solar and lunar myths has been published on our website and is available for download in three languages: https://hvilina.by/blogs/blog/A_collection_of_lost_myths_about_the_Moon_and_the_Sun
A distinctive feature of the collection is the stylized depiction of Francysk Skaryna’s original 16th-century coat of arms on the watch dial. The Moon is represented as a crescent – just as our ancestors perceived it: the crescent symbolized the masculine principle, while the Moon represented the feminine. The composition of the dial resembles a medieval celestial map, with the Moon and Sun arranged in the style of medieval visual art: massive, intricately shaped hands, a starry sky pattern, and unique indication elements.
The watches are packaged in a voluminous box, designed as an improvised Batleika, capable of holding two models at once – a men's and a women's watch. This makes it a perfect option for a matching set. The collection includes men’s mechanical and women’s quartz models, each limited to 500 pieces.
