The Belarusian media Onliner has published an article about the STAR CHRONICLE collection — a series of watches inspired by ancient beliefs about the Sun, Moon, and stars. The design reflects Belarusian myths and legends that have been passed down through generations and preserved to this day.
"It’s no coincidence that the Moon is depicted as a crescent on the dial. In archaic tradition, the Moon and the crescent were seen as two distinct celestial bodies. The crescent symbolized the masculine principle, while the Moon represented the feminine".
The concept of the collection is based on materials gathered by Iryna Klimkovich, a researcher of Belarusian mythology, former employee of the National Academy of Sciences, and co-author of the encyclopedic dictionary "Belarusian Mythology".
"The men’s models feature a transparent case back, allowing a view of the watch’s movement, with one sector engraved with an image of a Batleika puppet theater. Meanwhile, the Sun and Moon, as envisioned by the creators, take center stage in this cosmic performance. Even the box is designed in the style of the traditional Belarusian puppet theater".
